It is time for the litter 3 Puppy Pool!!! Guess the actual birth date, # boys and # gilrs. My puppy family that guesses closest will get an extra go-home toy.

Some stats to help with your guesses: 

• Shelby’s first litter was due on 3/5 (day 63) and arrived on 3/3 and was 3 boys and 3 girls, she weighed 33 pounds the morning she went in to labor and each puppy weighed 10-11.5 ounces.
• Shelby’s second litter was due on 11/17 (day 63) and arrived on 11/16, on day 56 she weighed 34.3 pounds, 5 puppies, 4 boys and 1 girl that all weighed 5.5-8 ounces.
• Some of the weight gain is for the milk for the puppies and all the surrounding fluid for each puppy.
• The puppies are due on 8/9, using the 58-68 day range estimate, they could arrive as early as 8/4 and as late as 8/14. 8/9 is the 63 day average when most pups arrive. They could be a little earlier or a little later even (for her sake, it better not be later!).
• Shelby usually weighs 22.5 pounds, today, day 56, she weighs 36 pounds.
• Shelby has needed help getting on our bed for over a week.
• We started seeing puppy heads and bums pushing on Shelbs’ sides on 7/25.
• As of this morning, 8/2, we are down to .5-1.5 mile walks per day and that walk takes about twice as long or longer than pre-pregnancy walks.
• Shelby is still playing with her toys in the first part of the morning. She was like this her first 2 litters as well.
